Rod has been pastor of Bethany since February, 1992. His father was a career man in the Navy so he has lived all over the country but Slidell has been his home the longest. He is a graduate of Concordia Junior College in Ann Arbor, MI, Concordia Senior College in Ft. Wayne, IN, and Concordia Seminary, St. Louis, MO. Rod's first call was as pastor of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church in Gainesville, GA. He was there from 1981-86. From 1986-1992 he was on staff at Trinity Lutheran Church in Lisle, IL. Rod and his wife, Karen, were married on March 15, 1997. Together they have seven children and two grandchildren. Karen works full time as an Early Interventionist/Developmental Specialist for the LSU Health Sciences Center. They especially enjoy traveling and playing with their grandchildren. Rod loves being the pastor of Bethany. It's been quite a ride so far but believes the best is yet to come. He is excited about "Connecting People to Jesus" and helping them become 3d Christians.

Lisa Dunk oversees the administrative branch of the church which includes the church office, facilities, Administrative Team, and Human Resources Team. Lisa is a native of the New Orleans metropolitan area with 20 years experience in office management and administration. The Dunk family moved to Slidell in 2002 and quickly became active members of the Bethany family. Lisa became a part of the staff in 2004, first as a part-time secretary, then as the full time administrator in 2006. Lisa and her husband Andy have three grown daughters and two grandchildren.
